please forgive the ignorant questions..
here's the scenario. I want to know if I can have one of those small dishes
work in 2 different states. As in, the "main" receiver would be in state A,
and then have one in state B. While at the same time, someone in state A can
watch the dish at th same time that someone is watching it in state B?
Is that possible? And if so, how?
I can provide more information, so that makes sense.
Also, I was able to get a C-band sat dish last summer, without knowing if it
worked or not. Is there a simple way (without hooking it up, as it's now
taken apart) to test if the horn works?

Get two (or three, or more) boxes, authorize them all, and keep up the
payments for the extra boxes. Ship them to your friends and relatives.
All they will then need is a dish, which can be gotten cheaply. They
can be in another state, Canada, pretty much anywhere in the hemisphere,
and watch whatever they want. Tell them not to hook up the boxes to a
phone line. As a bonus, they can catch a few pay-per-views, until the
box fills up, for free. If they ever hook the box to a phone line,
however, it will call home and the PPVs will then be charged to you.

thanks. I noticed that some of the small print says that if you keep the
receivers "hooked" into the phone line you don't pay the extra 5 bucks a
month. So you're saying once they're "authorized" you can pretty much cheat
the system? haha...sweet!
I have an extra small dish, altho I don't think I have any of the cords for
it (or whatever the hell is needed). Does it matter if it's not the same
company?
I was under the impression that in order to have or get PAY perview,
the recievers HAD to be connected to a phone line to properly bill the
authorised machine.
If the out of place recievers ever call home, yer busted for fraud.

Whilst ilegal, there's a way.
Both recievers have to be hooked up and installed (and paid for) at the
one address.
No pay perview as then they need to be connected the same phone line at
the one address.
Then, YOU need to remove one reciever AND aim and install a second dish
at the second location yourself.
