Upgrading IR to RF remote on Hughes GAEBO

Hello

I bought the HACC-HRMC9 kit to upgrade my Hughes GAEBO receiver to an RF
remote.

I hooked up the RF antenna fin and put batteries in the HRMC9 remote but it
only works in IR.

If I go outside the room out of line-of-site it won't work.

Is there a trick to programming this remote to work in RF?
