hey any 1 cn help me out here, i had a MSI board and it has Pentium d 2.66ghz processor (pinless)
then i have shifted to ASUS P5KPL AM IN/SI MOTHERBOARD,but i am facing a problem ....
when i try to install XP it restart in between and when i enter into BIOS it start flickering and behaves in abnormal way with in a minute or two...
i think it is compatibility issue of processor with board ,if i =t can b fixed by bios setting then please do let me know...

You need to list your cpu id number, (such as 520) and look it up on asus website under "cpu support". If you don't know it, try cpu-z, a free download which will identify your cpu and memory.

find and download CPUz use it and check the full name of your CPU on CPUz like mine is Pentium 4 HT 3.0ghz but on CPUz its called "Intel Pentium 4 531" the last 3 digit is important there whenever you planning to buy new Mobo look closely on that motherboard if its compatible with your CPU..now if you see your fully name of your CPU go to Asus/Support to CPU support browse your CPU there and it well shows all Asus motherboard that may compatible with your CPU..
