That is disgusting. I wish I could afford to do that. Awesome. A 30" LCD I think would be better though, you really aren't doing those GTX 295's justice at 19x12 res.

The LCD is not 30" but 27". It is big and heavy enough! I really do not need to have anything bigger.
That being said, I am getting the nVidia 3D Vision kit with Samsung 2233RZ 120Hz LCD next week. I will have this extra monitor to play with so I will have 2 monitors which I can use in Dual mode.

The thing is a 30" monitor will have a resolution of 2560x1600, not 1920x1200. At the 1920x1200 resolution a single GTX295 would probably be enough anyway (or two GTX275). If going overboard, might as well doing it all the way.

I guess is is personal then. I like the size as is. I will be doing some benchmarks to really see what the difference is of one VS two GTX295s. I will let you know if it was worth it even for a 27inch monitor. :D

There not talking about the size of the monitor. There talking about the resolution of the monitor. Its important to note the difference between the two.

Question why did you pick that psu?

Two GTX 295 for 1900x1200 resolution won't do anything more than one GTX 295. Go all the way, get a monitor with 2560x1600 that will actually use the quad SLI.

or find a 4k x 2k screen otherwise those two GTX 295's are a serious waste.

and damn you have a lot of cash. that freakin' i7 board is the most expensive on the market, the 965 is pointless since D0 i7 920's oc further.

but then I thought this idiot got dual GTX 295's and a 19x12 monitor. along with only 6GB of ram and two Velociraptors when caviar blacks are just as fast and you got a V10 instead of a compact water cooling system.

IMO I would have gotten a 22" 19x12, a couple of GTX 285's, 12gb of ram, dual 1TB caviar blacks and two 30GB vertex ssd's in RAID. And a i7 920 D0 with a Phase Change cooler and OC past 5GHz.

It would've cost less aswell and be a lot faster.

Bon,

Have you had any luck booting the Classified with the Enermax 1250 EVO???

There is a thread on EVGA's site that says that they don't work together. I have similar parts
and will be getting my cpu tomorrow and may have to use another psu...

Dave.

Hello Dave,
I am also still waiting for my shipping of goodies so I have not had the chance to test it as yet. Please note that the Classified has 2 ATX (8-PIN) connections for the power supply. However, it is documented that you only need to use one of them. Please let me know your results.

The reason why there's two is because it can use up to 600w(if i remember correctly) of power for the cpu. You'd have to be doing 5.0ghz+ overclocking to really need anything that is close to that amount of wattage however. The board has one purpose and that's to break overclocking records. But yes one 8-pin ATX plug will do the trick. You do not need two for the board to function properly.

Turns out that it is a little tricky to get the Classified to post with the Enermax 1250 evo. When you turn on the psu and then turn on the motherboard it wont post. You have to wait a minute to let the psu or motherboard charge its capacitors or warm up. But in the end it works.

Hello Davidm671,
That is good to hear. I will remember that when I get it. I should be getting both products by the end of next week. Wish me luck! If not, I will be posting on this site and crying for a solution.

OMG, Do not accept delivery of the Enermax 1250 Galaxy EVO! It is not compatible. It worked at first and then it just would not cooperate and got worse. I just RMA'd it yesterday and instead ordered the Pc Power and Cooling 1200 ESA from ZipZoomFly for $429 after rebate. Not only that the place I ordered the Enermax product will only give me credit when Enermax receives the PSU back. So now I'm over budget $340 though I'll eventually use it for some other parts for a future build, but their price for the PC Power PSU was $579!

Good Luck....
