Dear readers
Today i ve installed my Gainward 275
but the device manager shows it as a 260 card. Even in the nvidia drivers it says 260. I ve installed the drivers that came with the card and also tried the newest drivers from the nvidia site. Whats going on ?

When i booted my PC for the first time with the new card , windows vista started the new "hardware thingy found" and immediatly installed its own drivers( i was not able to cancel this ) . Could this have anything to do with that ?

Try downloading GPU-Z and post back what it says.

if it's installed it's own drivers try installing them manually yourself.

Well when windows boots up it recognizes it as 260 (no drivers installed)
Next thing i do is installing the latest drivers from nvidia
That didn t solve anything so i installed the drivers en software that came with the card (older nvidia driver)

Didn t solve anything again , so i went into window safe mode and removed the drivers and tried it again

It keeps saying the same.

It says in CPU Z the card has an release date of Jun 16 2008. Ehm how long is the GTX 275 now on the marked ? 3 months orso ?
Or is this release date based on the GT 200 core ?

Still im missing 24 shaders where did they go ? 275 card runs with 240 shaders and not 216 like the 260 card

Is this wierd or what ?

Call Gainward you got the wrong card. A GTX 275 has 240 shaders not 216.

Lol, seriously? Holy crap, what does the box art say? Do you have another computer you could try?
But yeah, sounds like they tried to rip you off.

Yeah, does the little part number sticker say 275? I know my old NVidia cards would say to check that before buying.
