Hello,
I have tried to install a second HDD on a HP dv9310Us. When the driver is installed as a lave driver, the laptop does not boot.

When the drive is removed, the laptop boots with no problems.
Both drives are SATA. Any Ideas?

Sata does not have master/slave jumpers per se.
Make sure in BIOS both drives are recognized, then make sure you assign the correct boot order.
As a last resort, boot your PC without it and then mount it as an external USB drive via an enclosure. Win7 should recognize and initialize the drive, then you can format it.
Then remove it, shut down, install it inside the PC, reboot. Again, make sure you have the correct boot order set up in BIOS.
