I have been using an X1950pro which I think is about to die. So i wanted to replace the graphics card to make my system last a little longer before building a new system. I was wondering about recommendations for a replacement card. 4770? 4850? Will my processor limit me with these options? If not what would you recommend? Thanks
Thanks for the responses. I do play games, mainly The Witcher at the moment. Otherwise just general use video conversion sometimes and InDesign with a little bit of Photoshop.

Not sure if you need any more info? Thanks again for the help
BTW the components are overly detailed as I have the email from when I ordered
You would suffice with something like a 4670. There is no need to spend more as you probalby won't make good use of it until an entire system upgrade is done.
Thanks guys! Yes I am gaming in XP. The thing is there is a relatively small difference in price between the three cards making things even more confusing. Hence my slight preference for the 4770.

My cpu won't be a bottleneck with the 4850?
nope, not in XP games. I ran my 9800GT with an Athlon x2 4200. I just recently upgraded to a X2 6000 and my FPS went up like 10% tops across the board for most games. Some like LOTRO, stayed the exact same. Crysis, on high settings, went up 10%.
My OS is XP and my screen res is 1440 x 900.
By the way, I have seen some 4850 as low as $100 on newegg, same price as the 4770.
