I am using a monitor without speakers so I have no need for the audio HDMI uses. I have a gtx 470 that has 2 dvi ports and one mini hdmi. I am curious which one I should use. Would VGA or HDMI be better quality for gaming? Thanks

HDMI and DVI will give better quality than VGA. HDMI and DVI are digital standards. VGA is analog.

Just use the DVI interface there's really no difference visually.

HDMI/DVI you should be getting better quality (in terms of sharpness, contrast, color saturation etc) than via VGA. It's not a dramatic difference between the two, but digital is certainly going to be better.

Note : A DVI or HDMI systems ability to transfer the video signal from source to display depends on:
- A transmitter's silicon and board layout ability to transmit the signal properly
- The cable's ability to carry the signal with the lowest possible jitter, skew, crosstalk and attenuation
- Plus a receiver's capability to recover the incoming data signal and verify the HDCP signal.
