I have the D-link 1310 and a 1320 G- range booster. The problem is the adapter is not connecting to the router on G mode even when i select " G only mode". Instead its on mode 11b when i check the connection status.

I dont think so, the router itself supports B mode, but i set it to use G only mode. Other than that the adapter is a D-link1320 which is on G mode. The status shows 11B mode tho

Well, if you'd mentioned that you have very very low signal........

Suggest you try changing channels as they work better or worse in various environs. Also if you can detect neighbouring wifi aim to use a channel 5 stops away from strongest.

Yeah i'm detecting a neighbor's signal, I'm on channel 6 at the moment, the D-link keeps on dropping the connection too. The neighbor is usually at channel 11, i think thats the max channel i could go up to as well.

If the neighbour is "usually at channel 11" they may have auto-channel-select on which tends to move according to what else is nearby. You might kindly offer to set their router to fixed channel that's away from you.
