As you see the CPU temp is ~17ºC higher than the core temps.
CPU: AMD Phenom II X3 720 BE (OC'd to 3.4ghz on stock voltages because anything higher or unlocking the 4th core brings CPU temp to high 50s)
CPU Fan: zalman 9500A + AS5
Case fans: 2x120mm coolermaster 2000rpm 1x80mm coolermaster 2000rpm

Would the difference in CPU cores vs CPU temp be caused from poor application of my AS5? my mobo? my ram heating up my NB?
I have no idea but it just seems odd that its so much hotter.

Thanks for any input

P.S. i tried googling and found similar cases but most were to the opposite of core temps being hotter or a program causing errors.

well under load the CPU will hit around 60C where the cores are at 40C max

I get my xigmatek HDT-S1283 in the mail today so hopefully all is good :).
