I recently got new ram that wouldn't work with my mobo. The original ram that was in it from the beginning is ddr2 800, and 2 sticks of a gig each. It has 5-5-5 timings and i think its 2.2v or something. Anyways, the ram I bought was exactly the same specs, just a different brand... didn't really think it wouldn't be compatible, but it wasn't. So after messing around with the situation, I'd finally gotten one of the new sticks to work with the existing two, leading to a total of 3 gigs on three separate sticks, but it would only work in single channel. So I decided it was dumb to spend 35 just to use only one of the sticks to have half the bandwidth and I returned them.
Ever since I put them in the box and sent them back for a return, my computer's been BSOD'ing for no apparent reason. I'm kind of wondering what the cause of this might be, considering that when I took out the new ram to ship it back, it put the old ram back in the same configuration. I checked it in cpu-z to make sure its running dual channel too- and it is.
So if anyone has any ideas I'd be glad to hear them. Thanks a lot!

My first thought is to ask if you were careful about static electricity. Also 2.2v is mighty high for DDR-2 800 at 5-5-5-15 standard for that would be 1.8v. What brand MB and what brand is the RAM?
Try reseating the sticks one more time just to make sure and run Memtest to rule out a dying module.
