i already ahve a GPU, ATI 1950GT 512mb

So wondering what processor i should go with? Intel dual core, amd dual core, amd tri core? amd dual core to unlock more cores? i'm very hesitant on which to pick with so much discussion out there what will fit my needs better? dual? tri? quad? cannot afford intel quad

I plan to play all of the following on the new computer. World of warcraft, itunes, vent, Mozilla firefox, and msn messenger. Right now my single core sempron is barely keeping up plz pick a processor that will fit the bill

Plz build something on newegg to fulfill what i need Thank you very much

Quite a limiting budget.However it's possible.
Here is a hard drive Western Digital Caviar Blue WD1600AAJS 160GB 7200 RPM 8MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive - OEM $39.49
I picked a Western Digital Drive because they tend to be reliable.

Here is an Intel Motherboard although it's a budget board it seems to have decent ratings

Note I tried to limit it under $200 but if you want you could choose a better capacity hard drive at more of a cost etc like a 640 GB one or larger.

Oh that's the older Phenom tri cores. They are slow. You wouldn't want the Phenom 9600 as it was the original Phenom that had a TLB bug in it.It would be better to go with the much faster Phenom II tri cores. It's too bad that you're limiting your budget so much because there is quite a sale at newegg on the quad core 3.0 Ghz Phenom II X4 945 with a motherboard on a combo deal for around $204.Note this uses DDR2 memory
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Comb [...] mbo.213853
Also here is a deal on the Phenom II tri core This uses DDR3 memory and is $205
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Comb [...] mbo.205337
DDR3 memory is more expensive by about $20 more than DDR2 memory.
If you got these you budget would be more like $300.
There is a Dual Core Phenom II X2 550 BE deal on though. For around $161
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Comb [...] mbo.213844
So that would be within your ($250) budget
