I've read you can do this with a couple of Gigabytes, though I've not tried it.

Newegg has an MSI x58 Plat. on open box special for $150 (at MC I see a i920 at $229 and at ZZF a 3x2 GB DDR3-1866 on sale at $70 after rebate free shipping, I can't resist, I can sell my current AMD 9950 set up and go i7 for about $240).

Anyway, the MSI x58 Plat. is physically and by spec. identical to the MSI x58 Plat. SLI edition.

Can I just flash the bios on the MSI?

Anyone tried it?

Any guesses?

It'd be nice to have the option in any case ... but I replaced a 4870 512 with a 260 894 and the added memory seemed to give me better gaming performance. I dislike the idea of a two card solution but if i decide to stick with the nvidia card it'd be nice to know I wasn't limiting my options by my choice in motherboard.
