How far can I oc an AMD Athlon X4 645?

yeah pretty much the question ..its 3.1 gigs stock ..quadcore ..no level 3 cache ..non black edition ..so no unlocked multiplier ..thanks :)

The Athlon II will go around 3.6 to 3.8 GHZ any more then that they need to much voltage and are tough to get stable.

You need disable C1E and Cool'n'Quite on BIOS.

You have a locked CPU, that means that we need use the FSB for overclock the CPU, but that FSB also affect the NB, HT and DRAM frequency.

Slow down the RAM frequency ratio to the lowest possible, rise the FSB in little steps 10MHz or so and try to keep the NB and HT frequency at ~2000MHz.

Test the stability with prime95, LinX, OCCT or y-cruncher for 2hours or more.

Sure the worth, the i5-2500k is the best price/performance CPU available at this time.
