Im looking to build a new rig, which mainly will be used for HD encoding (such as decoding a bluray to a smaller high def encode for storage purposes) and some gaming.
I was thinking about something like this :
Motherboard: ASUS Rampage II Extreme
CPU: Core i7 EE 3.33 GHz, the new 975 coming out soon.
Ram: 12 GB (best kind??)
HDD: 256 GB SSD for OS, 4 x 2 TB for storage in RAID.
GPU: Just something that'll play Wow, Starcraft 2, Diablo 3 etc. ??
OS: Vista 64 bit.
And ofc a bluray drive.
What do you think? I'd get a i7 skulltrail, but I couldn't find out when its coming out ? Or maybe a dual xeon system instead ?
