CPU replacement & OS

Hi,

I want to replace my current CPU with another of the same class
and brand name but with better performance. I cannot write the
types of CPU because for some reason spelling errors are detected
in the names and my message is rejected. My question is: Will my
currently installed Windows xp pro work transparently with the new CPU or will I need to reinstall the OS all over again?
