Building a cheap PC myself, not sure which card to get, 4890 sounds sweet, but does it really offer that much more performance than 4770 for the extra money? I haven't seen any benchmark where 4770 against 4890. For example if I want to run COD5 or Crysis, is 4770 good enough?

At what resolution are you planning on playing COD:WaW? Really if you are looking at the 4770 then why not the 4850? Either will save you money over the 4890 and unless you are gaming at insane resolutions they should give playable frames with the 4850 being a little ahead of the 4770.

That does not mix well with the 4890. You would need a good CPU (to prevent bottlenecks) and a good PSU, which are typically not found in a cheap PC. Though, I guess it really depends on what you think of as cheap.....Oops, now im just going on .

Here are some benchmarks of the 4770 (the article is about 4770 crossfire, but it also includes a single 4770 and a 4890): http://www.tomshardware.com/review [...] 288-6.html
I havent seen any benches of a 4770 and 4890 with COD5, but I'll search for some later.

Really depends on what resolution you are using and what other specs your system has. If you are planning to run those at 1920x1200 or higher with high levels of AA you probably want the 4890. Its extra power is much more necessary for those conditions.
