in my office network, we using 2 D-link 10/100 switches. The distence between these two are abt 70 mtrs. We used to connect this switches by useing a cat5 cable since last 2 years. Last week i tried to connect this switches by using a CAT6 new connection. While connect the new cat6 cable all the port led were blinked. and unable to access lan. if the cat6 detach and connect cat5 again we get the network connection. Otherwise cat6 cable is directly connected from one switch to a PC the network can be access. why this network likes this

Are you using a crossover cable to connect the switches on the old line?

Any reason why you changed the cable?
