I have an ECS P965T-A montherboard. Does anyone know anything about the 'message waiting' feature - I think it's when the power LED flashes continuously? What is the message waiting facility and how does one access the messages?
To explian ... I recent had some sort of hardware problem - After leaving the computer, which has been stable for ages, switched on for several hours - returned to find a white screen with apparently a boot error ('Cannot find IDE device' or something like that - didn't write it down unfortunately).
Only apparent way out was to force a power off via the power button. Then powered on successfully - hard disks found, OS loaded and checked out - everything as normal except the power LED was flashing on/off appox. twice a second at a regular pace.
I assume this flashing is the message waiting indicator as hinted at in the motherboard manual page 12, which describes the pins for the LED as "Power/Sleep/Message waiting LED"
The manual doesn't give any more clues as to what to do if there is a message, where it can be found etc. There's nothing in the Windows event viewer or BIOS setup menus as far as I can see.
