Best DVD DRIVE (Samsung, Sony, Pioneer etc)

I personally prefer drives that can scan a burned disk and report the raw error rates. It's the only way to know for sure how good a burn is - simply playing the disk back or comparing the data doesn't tell you because the ECC codes automatically correct most errors. The disc can be so badly burned that it's just BARELY readable and it still "looks" perfect thanks to error correction.

I bought the LiteOn IHAS424, which can report raw error rates and which comes with Nero software that can display them:
