Price Different between different MAnufacturers?

IF different manufacturer makes of the same model of a card dont have any significant difference then what's with the difference in Price? People tend to say that a card is a card, no matter who makes 'em may that be asus,bfg,palit,gigabyte or whichever.

What i cannot understand is how come prices may vary as much as 100 for a certain model i.e gtx 275 or 285.

IS it safe to just go for the cheaper choice?

Well, some manufacturers can make them for slightly less/more, higher/lower clocks, non-standard fans, and some offer better warranties and customer service, and some companies simply make higher quality cards.

I would go for a cheaper one, but only if it's from XFX, or EVGA, those would be the two I would trust the most for price and quality. I have been really satisfied with my EVGA purchases and highly recommend them (just my opinion.) EVGA has good customer service once you register online (easy and simple to do ) and you can also use their Step-Up program to get a better card within 90 days, which is a really nice feature!
