My notebook has an SSD-harddisk and 4GB Intel Turbo Memory. Since User Pinning doesnt do any good, I thought about using the turbo memory for the pagefile.sys since it seems to slow down SSD-harddisks.

Can anyone explain to me how to mount the Turbo Memory as a (virtual) disk?

Thanks a lot ;)

a) virtual memory is VERY different from a virtual disk

b) is this even possible?

could you not just disable swap file and get the same thing done with out the pain and complicatition of virtual disks and swapfiles?

It can be done - But not cheaply

What you are looking for is a 'Ram Disc' - though that particular name appears to be trademarked by a company specializing in HP-UX (HP's version of Unix). What it does is allow you to designate a portion of RAM as a Disc Drive. VERY VERY FAST, as you could imagine.

I did a little poking around and found a seeming candidate. I have not used any of this stuff myself, so I have no idea how well (or even if) they work as advertised. Would be interested in hearing back, though!

But as far as I can see, it wont work with "Intel Turbo Memory" as it is not really RAM...
