So i saw the gtx285 for $297 at my local bestbuy yesterday and i'm really tempted to buy one since it's the cheapest i've seen so far but the problem is the psu. I'm not sure its beefy enough to power it. Would a 500 watt antec earthwatts be able to power the gtx285 oc? If i need to upgrade my psu too then im just gonna stay with my current setup till price lowers.

My system is very simple, the only thing i upgraded was the psu and video card, everything else is stock. Overclocked the processor from 2.2 to 2.4ghz(AMD phenom x4 not sure what model) I've read around and my general opinion on this is 50/50 so far. Could anyone give me some more info about this? I really don't want my system to fry because of a stupid mistake. There was one guy i read on here that is running 2 gtx 260's on a similar psu but i don't know if the information is reliable or not. Thx for taking the time to respond.

Your PSU supplies 408w total to the 12V rails, which is 34A. Plus, it has two PCIe power connectors. Your system with the GTX285 should be fine IMO.
