General question about BIOS settings

I have a new build with ASUS P6X58D-E and core i7-950. I haven't built a system in a while and got my new machine built last night. I'm not familar with QPI, blck, etc, etc. but want to adjust my memory frequency and cpu frequency. I know there no longer is a FSB. I've been doing google searched on qpi x58 guides and core i7 oc guides, but most of the stuff I find doesn't go into detail on qpi and the terminology. It kind of assumes I know a lot of this. Does anyone know of any good guides?
