I already have the PSU

PSU ROSEWILL|RP600V2-S-SL-S 600W RT - Retail

and case Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6817182062

and a mid Tower case

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6817182062

I am fairly certain I want to get SAPPHIRE 100260SR Radeon HD 4850 X2

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6814102813

I am worried that the video card won't fit. Also is it worth considering the core 2 at all or should I really be looking at the core 2 quad or should I get a AMD Phenom X4?

The links are the same, that rosewill PSU is crap to be honest and will take componenets with it when it dies. It only has 35W max combined on the 12V rails, get this one atleast. It only has a 50W difference but has 6 more amps on the 12V rail.

^ To be more clear I meant that the link for the computer case is the same as the PSU.

New egg had good rating for the PSU :( I already bought it so im kinda screwed. I have a real nice power conditioner / ups not sure if that will help but the die is cast on the PSU.

Any suggestions on best bang for your buck CPU/MOBO/RAM? I am not getting a Core I7. Will be doing some gaming on the PC, hope to be able to run starcraft 2 etc when it comes out.

I can't be too sure about sticking that 4850 in the case, I imagine it to be very tight. As for the combo, I'll try my best to make something up.

CPU : AMD Athlon 64 X2 7750 Kuma 2.7GHz 2 x 512KB L2 Cache 2MB L3 Cache Socket AM2+

Motherboard : GIGABYTE GA-MA790GP-UD4H AM2+/AM2 AMD 790GX HDMI ATX AMD

RAM : G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)

Thats what I would reccomend, but I truly think there are btter deals/combos out there.

Totals close to 250.00+ give or take. Not counting shipping tho.

^ Overclocking that CPU will get you better performance and such.

GIGABYTE GA-MA790X-UD4P AM3/AM2+/AM2 AMD 790X ATX - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6813128387

^ This motherboard will get you better upgrading capability, its supports AM3. And its slightly cheaper than the other one I listed.

Theres already AM3 Phenom II X3 CPUs and X4 ones, which will be compatible with this mobo.
But really I don't know much about motherboards lol.

Thanks for the suggestions. I am thinking AMD is the way to go. Also going to see about returning that PSU, don't want to buy a 250 dollar video card and have it go up in smoke. Would the 550W Corsair be power full enough for the 4850 X2?

Should be enough power, since Corsair is a real reliable brand.
