the 4870 is the better card
the 9800GTX+ (aka GTS 250) competes against the 4850

As said above, it isn't really much of a competition. The 4870 is definitely a better card. Unless you are getting a massive deal on the 9800GTX then you would want to go 4870.

neither, the 4770 out of those two, it's cheaper and if you get the ASUS TOP version, over 900mhz is possible with a modified rivatuner file.

It's also based on the 40nm process.

they run roughly neck and neck in just about every game, can't go wrong with either one since both are very good cards for today's games.

you can also get the 4770 which is slightly below the 4850/9800GTX+ (but not by much) but costs around $100

I have also seen the 4850 drop down to $100 w/ rebate from some manufactures (which is steal)

thanks...i was thinkin about the 4850 too...9800GTX+ uses a lot of power and i would have had to upgrade my PSU

i think the 4850 will be perfect

thanks and any more thoughts are welcome
