Hello,
I purchased this PC from TigerDirect a year ago and recently downloaded and ran PCWizard. PCWizard (Overclock Info Screen) shows my Intel Q8300 Quad CPU Frequency at 2000MHz (initial: 2500MHz) and a Multiplier of 6x (initial 7.5x). The provided BIOS displays no information re clock speed, bus speed, multiplier, etc. The PC came with 6GB of memory (reported as DDR3 PC3-10700 @ 667MHz). PCWizard shows the 2MB that I added as DDR3 PC3-8500 @ 533MHz. Any clues as to why my ACER PC is not running at the Intel Q8300 rated speed of 2.5GHz? Can I do something to regain the advertized rated speed? Thanks. Jim in Cupertino, CA

After posting, I looked some more online and discovered that my Intel Q8300 CPU has the Intel EIST feature that cycles down the CPU frequency to conserve power when the load on the CPU is low. To verify, I ran a PCWizard CPU benchmark and observed the frequency and multiplier with CPUID CPU-Z. While the CPU benchmark was running (85 - 100% load on all four cores), CPUID CPU-Z displayed a multiplier of 7.5 with a frequency of 2500MHz - the rated speed. My earlier concern that my Intel Q8300 was not delivering its rated speed of 2.5GHz has been vanquished!
