Is a Radeon HD 4350 512MB better than a ATI x1900?

they have the former on sale at newegg for like 19 bucks, where as the x1900 is what I have now.. and I think i paid like 150 bucks for it 2 years ago.

A simple yes or no would be great, but any more information would be dandy.

the x1900 is twelve down, the 4350 is about 20 down. There is a reason the 4350 is dirt cheap

No.

The HD 4670 will be faster than the X1900XT by about 10% - 15% based on research I've done back when the HD 4670 was released. I would recommend you look at the HD 4830 / HD 4770 / HD 4850 (in order of increasing performance).

Spending about $60 on the HD 4670 for a minor increase is not worth the money. I too am looking to upgrade my aging X1900XT 512MB, and I am looking at the HD 4770 as an interim upgrade for when an "affordable" but powerful DX11 card comes out.

The HD 4770 is a $99 main stream card that will dominate the X1900XT, yet consume less than half the power of the X1900XT.

I am waiting for XFX's version that will exhaust hot air out the back of the card, but the it is not expected to be released until the end of May or beginning of June.

If you want to upgrade, a relatively low priced card that would be a huge jump from your x1900 would be the 4670: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6814161252

I wouldnt go with the 4830, the 4770 is better and about the same price. Or you could get this 4850 for $115: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6814102824

The 4350 is alot slower than the X1900XT, or even the GT version.. If you have a crossfire board then perhaps you can pick up a master card for crossfire to hold you over till the DX11 cards roll around ^_^. If you want something now then I'd say get a 4770 at least. The 4670 is only about 15-20% faster than a 1900XT card or about 30-40% faster than the 1900GT card so I would say to get at least a 4770 to see a significant improvement.

You can buy the HD 4830, it will be faster than the x1900XT if you are looking to save a few bucks. It should be selling for around $85 (maybe a rebate is involved).
