Windows XP install problems - DMI pool data hang

ok, so another day another problem with the new build.

I have an old XP Pro, ran through the install process, seemed to work nice and fast. then came to the part where the install process needed to restart pc, after that the first time I left the windows XP disc into the drive and it entered the install process again.

Thought "no, don't need to do this again", so restarted PC but windows wouldn't boot once I take disc out. just stalled with no boot disc.

Now everytime I try a new install of XP, I am stuck at the "verifying pool data" and nothing happens afterwards.

I did format the disc before installing using the windows install process. everything just stops at the "verifying DMI pool data" line.

what can I do now?

Clear the CMOS. If that does not work, try flashing the BIOS with the latest version. Then reinstall OS. Post back with results.
