I bought this card today for $121 at Best Buy. :sol:
It has been steady so far for six hours, hopefully everything will be alright.
It's a monster. Biggest and baddest thing I've ever thrown in any PC.
incredibly quiet.
I'll have to see when the busy game kicks in and the fan turns on what happens.i'm sitting on a PSU at 500watts and It's been really great and reliable so far for over a year now, but this card is the biggest (and just to mention it was light as hell too)
improvement graphics wise as well.
It's repalcing a PNY XLR8 8800GT 512 from last June.
The 9800GTX+ smokes it.
It has the best improvement in overall graphic effect, and I really noticed a difference in GTA San Andreas (forgive me, I still love it) at 1440 X 900 maxxed out.
That probably seems quite laughable to most of you big time shredders here, but I've been into guitars for a couple of years now and computers are honestly on the back burner for me these days...
maybe.
I feel a resurgence coming.
Today was an exciting day.
look forward to the night burn-in. Hopefully it will sit without resetting.
Cheers!

Not a bad price from a local store. For anyone shopping for a 9800 GTX+ a cheaper option is this.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130490

You're probably getting an 18% to 20% performance gain in some benchmarks and games but how much percentage-wise did your 3Dmark06 score improve?

Consider returning that card and getting a GTX 260 for $30 more.

Nah,
I went to another Best buy today and they were selling the GTX+ for $145.
They were surprised when I told them I bought the GTX from the store across town yesterday for $121.
I don't care for anything better.
This is the deal.
I never knew I could better my 8800GT that I bought last June for $149 ..... at a better price.
I just remember 3 years ago when a card with the specs anywhere near that of the GTX+ would run close to $700
just because it was so huge with the double slot requirement and an ass kickin' card.
It's not the first time I've bought into rescalloped technology but in my opinion this GTX+ smokes the PNY 8800GT.
And for $121 I've done forgotten how much it was. I'm just enjoying the hell out of it!
We'll see how it keeps up with my new PC (coming soon).
For now the ol 64x2 has its hands full.

good one jerk. the op found a good deal on that video card. no need to be douche bag.
op good job on that deal and enjoy your new 9800gtx. if u have a dual pic-e motherboard you can use your old video card as a ppu card. it could be a 4x pci-e just be sure your psu can support it
