I am trying to update my printer driver. Should I remove my old driver before installing the new one?

No, just right click your MY COMPUTER icon on desktop, go to hardware tab, go to device manager, look at the list and choose your printer. Double click it , and go through the tabs until you find a Update drivers button. click it and choose to connect to internet , to install automatically...
