I have a dual kit 2x2 GB Kingston HyperX XMP Ram 1333 CL7 @ 1.65v. I use that on a i5 750 and i have overclocked them to run at 1600mhz CL8. I used the same QPI/vtt and Dram voltage (1.21 / 1.65) that the ram was rated. So i am asking : is this considered overcloking just running the ram above the rated speed? I mean do i harm it that way if i don't provide extra voltage and just upping the mhz and the timings?

yes .. Overclocking is over everything from standard default
your RAM :Kingston HyperX XMP Ram 1333 CL7 and you run in 1600 Cl8 although not increase Vdim.
this safely & right way and make your Ram still cold .. if stable under test stability

I got a STOP : 0x0000009c yesterday and i have stress tested the shiet out of my pc. Memtest, prime95, IBT you name it. And i got BSOD when i just opened the PC and opened Fraps just before playing a game. After that stop i used the PC for 3 hours and didnt get error again. Thats weird.

uhmm i said if stable your Oc is good .. and now you have problem it . ( MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION
STOP: 0x0000009C (0x00000004, 0x8054D5F0, 0xb2000000, 0x00070f0f))
for fistr time set your RAM in bios 1600 change Auto (don't Both /DC0/DC1) increase little VDIM 0.015 , i think your default your RAM 1.5x , and in website Kingston can up to 1.65 .
in 1600 set auto you can test again! use Intelburn test for fast testing : http://downloads.guru3d.com/IntelBurnTest-v2.3-download... , maybe 20minutes set maximum RAM lop 20 .. . see, is your oc stable.?
and for long time tes use prime95

I think i will eliminate the RAM of the OC because i already have changed the settings to OC my CPU. I will drop it back to 1280 cl7 and experiment more with the PC. If the BSOD don't come again it was the RAM that was causing the problem. I don't understand what you mean by default 1.5 that ram is rated for 1.65v

DDR3 standard Vdim is 1.5xx Volt and can overvolt up to 1.65 Volt !

Could it be that the version of Fraps i tried to open was really old? I mean is it normal to get a blue screen from a misfunctioning program? Because after that i installed a newer version and all seemed ok. I mean i already have overclocked ram for couple weeks now and havent seen an issue.

I don't sure , your system normal, having problem Ram issued, will get install again and install again, bad ram can make corupt some files. For better run memtes86+ for health your ram
