Is there a way in WinXP to delay the log in request from the keyboard (Ctrl+Alt+Del) or from a Smartcard to the SAS? The problem I am having is that when using Dual Interface Smartcard Readers (Contact and contactless) the contactless interface is triggering the login process before the card can be fully inserted into the Contact Reader. Turning off the Contactless is not an option and currently there is no way to delay the output from the card reader.
What is the problem with the contactless reader preempting login?
As soon as the contactless portion of the reader senses the card it causes WinXP to enable the MSGINA and when the actual login is attempted it fails because there is no interface to the chip on the smartcard from the contactless interface.
What I am trying to figure out is how to make WinXP delay sensing the card until it can come up on the contact interface of the reader where it works fine. About a 50ms delay should do it.
