 That's got to be the most open-ended question I've seen on here in a while! What type of HD video editing? What's your budget? Are you looking to build your own or buy a pre-built? What software are you planning on using to edit your videos?
lol... yeah I guess that is open ended. $1000 or less. I'll build it myself if I have too... What i am looking for is advice on what Video Card, Mobo, CPU, and RAM. Thanks for keeping me on my toes.
For HD video editing, I would think about getting a pair of TB hard drives if you are going to make a decent amount of videos. Even standard definition takes up a lot of space, and HD will really eat through a hard drive. Which brings me to another point, get motherboard with more than 4 SATA ports so you can easily add HDs later.
Yeah! That's a great list there shortstuff_mt. Thanks a million. Also, good call San Pedro on the 4 SATA ports. I hadn't thought of that. I do play games, but only COD and BF2 online. It's fine right now with my 4gb RAM P4 2.8ghz... so anything will be an improvment...
Why would you go for a Phenom processor over the Core2 Quad?

Both are great CPU's. They go back and forth in the latest benchmarks. I don't have a preference between Intel and AMD, but the AMD setup offers a better upgrade path than the Intel one. You won't go wrong with either setup.
I have a Antec EA500 ATX 12V 500W Power Supply, you think that would do? And is there some better RAM like Corsair or Crucial that would go well with the Asus M4a7 mobo?
