Hello. Came a reason that now i need t get this card http://tekgems.com/Products/la-pci22-vt6421a.htm

But a problem is (because im not really familiar with PCI problem) that im not sure if it will fit in my motherboard. So i runed a program to check what board i have and it gave me this info ''ECS P4IBASD 1.0''
This PC is very old (~5-6 years or something) and when i look at motherbiar all PCI slot has, i dont know how to say that - 1 ''cut'' inside slot, and when i look at that card i linked, it has 2 cuts at a bottom. So if anyone knows if it will fit and work fine on my board would be very nice. Or i have to buy a card that has 1 cut at a bottom, just like this one http://cgi.ebay.de/3-SATA-S-ATA-1- [...] 518d57bd3c

Both has same chipset, but a bottom difere. Thank you

I see a Elitegroup P4IBASD(V1.1A) but not a 1.0 version. We'll assume they are basically the same.

The webpage for your motherboard is:
http://www.ecsusa.com/ECSWebSite/P [...] =6&LanID=0
Downloads are at:
http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/D [...] =6&LanID=0
Addl info on the board:
http://www.motherboard.cz/mb/ecs/P4IBASD.htm

You should download and save ALL the info found on these pages for later use. If your motherboard is working well, you should not update the BIOS but you should download those upgrades just in case.

We'll call the mount in your motherboard the "slot" and the cut in the card the "key".

PCI cards are normally 5V and they use the type of PCI slot that you have in your system and have the single key in them like the eBay card. There was a later 3.3V version of slot and card that used the key in the 2nd position on the card. Those were specialized cards and are less common. Many cards today have both keys cut in them, these cards will use either 3.3V or 5V. Notice that the two keys in the card you want do not prevent the card from going into your slot.

The keys are put there to make the card "idiot-proof" - to keep someone from putting the card into the wrong type of slot. Memory modules are made the same way - but that doesn't keep people from trying to force them!

You should be fine getting the card you wish. Note a couple of things about that card though. It only supports SATA 1.1 which is 150MBs, only half the current/normal SATA standard. And it may not support use in Windows Vista or Win 7 - it was made before these versions were released.

What are you planning to use the card for?

Thank you very much for a detailed ansver Mongox. So it turns out i can use any of those 2. Good news then. The reason i was looking for this card because i was planing to flash my xbox 360 firmware. So to conect its dvd drive to pc i need this card (sata to sata). Sata to USB wont work, and its not recomended to use onboard sata slots. Anyway.Thank you for those links. AS long as i have this motherboard i never ever used any drivers for hre, its weird, it didnt came with any CD, all i was doing is just reinstall Windows XP and it worked perfectly, without any problems. It had onboard sound card, has P4 2 Ghz, 2gb ram, and i bought a GF 6600gt. Only reasong i went to this PC because my new one died (strangely) and after along searches on internet i gave up on how to fix it. No money atm to send it to repair.
Im not sure if u kow what could cause this, but i wanted to ask again. About 1 month ago or more, my USB ports went crazy. Now once i insert any device in it, like my psp, it would take ~5min or somehitng, sometimes less, to finaly open its content. What it does is, once i conect psp to it, or web cam, or printer, it conects and reconects every ~2 secs nons stop for like 5 min, sometimes less. It tries to scan files on devise, then stops at some point, reconects automatily and does same again and again untill finaly it works. And once it works it send files to PSP very slow, mesage says my usb devise may not work properly or something, try to conect to high speed usb. If ill insert into another port, it prety much same story, but it shows content faster and sends files very fast (as it USB 2.0 should), but after about 30+ sec it reconects and wont let me finish send any files.
Atm im on Windows XP SP2. i know SP1 already have USB 2.0 drives. Maybe it time for this motherboard finaly ''die''

OK looks like this is your board then:
http://www.ecsusa.com/ECSWebSite/P [...] =1&LanID=0

On the USB problem. Does this happen with the USB ports on the back panel also? If not, check the wires from from your ports to the USB header on the motherboard. It acts like a loose wire.

I've had odd problems before on USB, where my old board would suddenly decide my USB port was running "slow" and certain devices shouldn't be attached on one location. The best solution is usually to try re-installing the USB driver. There's a driver for USB at the bottom of the driver list on the link above. Try it and see if it helps. Make notes about the driver you're using now first.

And doing the SP2 update for WinXP might help also. It's available free at Microsoft's site assuming your current copy is legal.

Well i dont how could i check those wires, because its ''integrated'' and soldered into motherboard. I will corect what i wrote before, when my usb port finaly recognies my inserted device, it says ''This usb device can perform faster if u connect it to high speed usb 2.0 port''. If ill conect it to other port, it will recognice my device stright away, but if ill leave it for ~30s it will reconect itself automaticly Im not sure how to reinstal my USB drivers, because im on XP SP2 and those drivers in that link work only on Windows 98SE, Windows Me.

The wiring for the USB port header I meant were for the other 4 USB ports your motherboard supports. You need a 10pin/2x5pin adapter to make these ports available. It may help with your problem - among other things might keep you from having to disconnect some devices. See the images below for details. And the headers are described on your manual page 21.

You're right about that update only being for older Win than XP. But still, SP2 might fix it. Regardless, you might try disabling all your USB ports in System, with all USB unplugged, then reboot and let them re-install.

Here's how to connect the other two USB headers for 4 more ports. They are called USB2 and JUSB2

The motherboard diagram - see the USB2 labeled on lower right and JUSB2 on bottom:
http://home.roadrunner.com/~expertpc/toms/board.jpg
The type of adapter you need - may not reach to back of system from JUSB2, hard to find long ones. That USB2 header is really designed for a front case USB connection. It must be a 10pin also called 2x5pin connector.
