Hey guys, could 4890 possibly be the 5850 card except 5850 may have higher ram clock speed.

What do u guys think? the new 1ghz 4890 has 1.6 tflops of computing power which is exactly 25% more then 4870. 750mhz->1ghz and 3.6 ghz to 4.4ghz.

As far as im aware th e5850 will be DX11 compliant which means some hardware changes. If the 4890 was DX11 compliant they would b eclaiming it as the first dx11 GPU. As they are not then i figure it isnt.

By that logic the 3870 would be comparable to the 4850, which we know it isnt. I would have though ATI would bump the shaders to 1200 for the 58xx series too, but thats just speculation. 1Ghz core clocks and 4.xGhz memory are probably fairly likely though.

How do you figure that exactly ? How does saying that it has to have archetecture changes equate to claiming the 3870 is similar to the 4850 ? I think you have been in the sun to long.
Please explain what you mean, im up for a good laugh around now. [:mousemonkey:5]
Sorry for the tone but you are basically telling me my logic is wrong because its right ??
