Hdmi no sound (his 4650)

hi,

im having a problem getting the sound to work with my 4650. i installed the ccc then the hdmi driver then the widows driver and also the realtek driver..and im not getting anything to show up in the device playback in the audio settings, the ati driver is showing up in the device manger, but i just cant get the sound to play through the tv, im lost ive looked and cant find anything. maybe im missing something, but like i said its there, but its saying no audio devices in the sound properties. any help would be great

also im using a dvi to hdmi cable if that helps at all.

I dont know much about it but i did hear a while back that you needed to sellect 5.1 suround on your Audio options, dont know if its true but thought i would put it out there.

which operating sytem?
XP does not support HD audio by default thus one needs to install the HD audio update from microsoft
