ASRock MOBO question, CPU question too, Sry!

Last response: in Motherboards

I am currently giving a lot of consideration to upgrading my CPU, as I feel it is sorely lacking compared to the rest of my system. Concerns:

1)It says, both in the manual and on Newegg, that this mobo http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... is "AM3 Ready!". Can this board actually support an AM3 processor?

2) I was looking at newegg's selection of Phenom II X4 processors and came across these 2:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Is there any real difference between these two besides the first being AM2+ and the second being AM3?

3) At the moment, is there any reason I should consider an X3 CPU over an X4?
Provided, of course, that my MOBO can handle AM3 tech, this CPU http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... seems pretty damn good for the money.

Thought?

Regards,

1st Duke.

1. Yes with the right bios version.
2. One is .65 nm; am3 is .45 nm. Select according to price and budget. Overclocking is still not a guarantee.
3. No. Select according to your primary usage. For example, I passed on the 710 which was only $49.99 last week at Fry's; it's too much cpu for surfing the net, and I was too busy to get to the store.
