Hello,

I have a older laptop that I love. A Sony T series VGN-T140P that runs Win XP PRO.

After reading about the new SSD drives I figure that is the ticket speed up my laptop and save battery life when traveling.

So main question: I have is will this work with XP PRO?

What are the cons of installing a SSD on a XP Pro machine?

Well it would work technically...XP pro just doesn't have features of newer OS such as Trim and auto disabling of certain processes which increase its life, but it should still outlast an HDD. It should save you significant;y on battery life and assuming the other components of the laptop aren't completely weak it will help with speed a lot.

Did you manage to replace the HDD? I have this very laptop so I am very interested in replacing its *old* HDD for a SSD.

Thanks
