I just ordered my new build and I was wondering if I could use this monitor for now:

Will the current cable I have work? If not is there a cable availavle I could buy? Or do i need to buy a new monitor asap?

If your new system has a D-Sub VGA output (either native or through an adapter), your current cable should work.

I ordered a Sapphire HD 4890. Does that have one?

I'm going to get a new monitor down the line when funds are available so which size would be best? Also what about other specs like Image Contrast Ratio, etc., are they important?

I just looked it up and apparently it comes with a DVI to VGA Adaptor? Is that the one I need?

Yes it'll convert the DVI output to a D-Sub VGA output.
