WD 7K 64M high temperature

Hi all,

I bought 2 HD 1T|WD 7K 64M SATAIII WD1002FAEX from NewEgg and just installed them but I found their temperature is 60C and 65C measured with SpeedFan 4.42.

Is the SMART broken on speed fun or these hard disks are broken ?

Did anyone have this problem ? - did not find this issue on the feedbacks.

You can also try HWMonitor ( www.cpuid.com ) just to cross-reference the readings, to make sure they aren't erratic.

I did that and the numbers are the same.

You can always try "manually" checking the temperatures. Just touch the HDD real quick. 60C would feel very hot. 30-35 would be warm to the touch.

I did this and is pretty hot, it's interesting that I do not see to much on the internet about this issue on WD and his model, this is the reason I'm asking if anyone had this issue ...
