Greetings all:

I have been reading through all the posts here trying to find some answers
to my PPC / WMP issue and I believe I may understand what my problem is, but
I will ask my question anyway.

I have a phone system that is setup to send voice mail messages to an MS
Exchange 2003 server, just like Ed is doing in his post "Playing compressed
..wav files" on 4/15/05. The phone system, which is a 3COM NBX 100, sends
the .WAV file using an IMA ADPCM Codec. If I open a message sent to me in
Outlook on my PC I can play the file which is attached just fine. If I open
the same message on my PPC and open the attached file it will not play.
Based on what I have learned I believe I must have the IMA ADPCM Codec on my
PPC.

I am using Pocket PC 2003 SE, and Windows Media Player 9. Two questions:
Can I install Codecs onto the PPC, and if, not will the newer WMP10 play
this type of file format?

I appreciate feedback from all who reply.

No.

No, don't believe so.

You should however be able to deploy a 3rd party audio player capable of
playing ADPCM WAV files. Betaplayer (http://betaplayer.corecodec.org/) is
one such player, it's a free download.
