hey guys
i'm looking for a new PSU. i want a 600w~ unit and i have heard great tthings about both the OCZ ModxStream and StealthXStream.
I've heard the the stealth can kick out 720W while over 80% efficiency, which essentially makes it a 700W unit (see here: http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/451)

However, I really love modular PSUs, and prefer them to normal ones. both these supplies are within 5$ of each other so cost is not an issue.

what i want to know is if the ModxStream 600w unit can kick out the same amount of power as the stealthxstream, thus making it the better buy.

which one should i be getting?

From what I have read around the web ,you will take a slight hit on the modular because of the secondary connections [that which makes it modular] because they will introduce more resistance in the circuit, kinda like 6 of one 1/2 doz., of the other..:)

i've looked at that, but my local pc store has both the OCZs on sale for 90$, whereas both those you recommended are out of my budget, around 130$.
again, will the extra power i gain in the Stealth be a better purchase than the better airflow and cooling i receive with the Modular one?

I still suggest you to buy ModXstream because you don't a PSU bigger than 550W so 600 is more than enough plus you have a modular PSU which is better for your airflow in the case.
