Ok, I am SOOOO glad I waited one day before going for a 4830. Checked out today's deals on newegg and this shows up:

Gigabyte 9800GT $69 after rebates
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125270

I was going to pull the trigger but decided to look around a bit. Sure enough, I find this:

MSI Radeon 4850 $85 after rebates
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?nm_mc=AFC-SlickDeals&cm_mmc=AFC-SlickDeals-_-NA-_-NA-_-NA&Item=N82E16814127414

Which one would you guys go after and why?

I am gaming in Vista 64 with a 19 inch widescreen lcd. My native res is 1440x900 but I'm so used to running everything at 1280x720 (consequence of having a 7600gt) that I'd be more than happy at either res settings. Anyways, I went with the 9800gt seeing as how people are saying this particular one (OC'd to 700) is about equal to the 4850 and I want to waste as little money as possible.

4850. I grabbed it as soon as it launched and never had an issue. I Got a pre overclocked one with a diff heatsink. pushed it further from 675core/2.2GHz mem to 700core/2.4GHz mem. Runs everything I play (Far Cry 2, UT3, L4D, Dead Space, CoD4) in Dx10 at or near max on a 1920x1080 monitor with a 4GHz Core 2 Duo.
