I'm putting together my next PC and these are the items that I'm considering to buy and use. As far as memory selection goes I'm not sure which would be the best to use. From reading some of the suggestions on this site this is what I was able to come up with. I would appreciate any suggestions or comments on this build before purchasing . Thanks in advance.

Very impressive system.

+1 to that G.Skill.

You'd need Vista Home Premium 64-bit OEM to use all that RAM and get DirectX 10.

There's also the Ultimate version, as well as the retail versions, but they all cost more and I don't think they're really necessary.

Are you planning to add a second GTX 285? If not, a 650TX would do all right. If yes, the 850TX is perfect. If you want to eventually have three GTX 285 cards, take advantage of this combo for the case you want + Corsair 1000HX.

I may add another video card, but need to do some research on that. I'm not sure how much of advantage two cards make and if it's worth the additional cost. I also will be adding Windows 7 beta and Windows 7 released version. I'm not a big fan on Vista. Do you have a opinion on memory or is the above mentioned OK?

I agree with shortstuff's choice of memory. It's an excellent deal and a good match for that setup.

Windows 7 seems to be faster than Vista. However, once they add in the security code it will probably be the same. I guess we'll see...

All right, you definitely don't sound like you'll want THREE video cards. That 850TX is a good choice for you. How to decide if you want a second card: play with just one and see how it feels. You can easily find benchmarks for the most popular games by Googling for reviews. For example in Crysis you can expect 35 fps at 1920x1200 with a single GTX 285.

With two, I suspect it will be around 50 fps. Most games will be just fine with a single card even at 1920x1200, because most games are less demanding than Crysis.
