IOMEGA EXTERNAL DRIVE CLICKING NOISE NOT RECOGNIZING

Hello,
I have a year old Iomega Prestige 1 TB usb external hard drive and suddenly when turned on it run with a repeatelly clicking noise and my computer does not recognize it. I already tried replacing the USB cable and the external power cable adapter and in both cases did not worked and it still makes the clicking sound.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix it or at least recover my information?

Clicking = BAD!! You are probably out of luck recovering your data. It could be continually trying to recover from one or more errors, or the heads physically moving (loading). As a last resort, try taking out of the external case and hooking it up directly to a SATA port on your motherboard. Don't hold your breath...
