Missing cache on my HDD

I recently downloaded the Sandra and ran some test on my hardwares.

I noticed my HDD seagate Barracuda model #ST31000528AS does not show the 32mb cache it is suppose to have, while my second HDD samsung 500gb drives does show the 16mb.

So am i just missing the it some while in the list of test it ran or did seagate.

  1. The drive simply wouldn't work if the cache was really damaged or inoperable. I expect that what you're seeing is just a difference in the way the firmware in each drive reports itself to the software.
