Hello,

Today when I tried to turn my computer on I got the error message "Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device". At first I tried restarting it a few times but no luck. So I went into the BIOS to try to change the boot order. Unfortunately, though it seems that my laptop no longer recognizes the hard drive. In the boot option I can only see the optical drive or my flash drive when I insert it. If anyone can provide any help it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for any help in advance.

(the laptop is an ASUS N61JQ-X2 if that helps)

Doesn't sound good!

There is an outside chance your HD just needs to be reseated in the laptop. If you have other resources to assist in troubleshooting... Take the drive out and see if anything changes when putting it in a desktop PC / motherboard.
