Hey guys,

I'm in the process of building a new system. The plan is to super bargain hunt for high quality parts on sale, with promos, MIR, etc. An example of this would be I got an XFX 850W PSU for $89.99...that's the kind of deal I'm looking for. Please feel free to message me if you spot any amazing deals on any other parts. The PSU is the only thing I have so far.

Are any of these CPU coolers a crazy good deal, or should I wait for a better deal later on in the year?

Kind of difficult to answer since you don't have any other components.
As long as you buy a case that's 8" wide or more and ram under 41mm tall you'll be ok.
There's some good coolers in the list and the prices are pretty damn good.
Xigmatek Dark Knight-S1283V REV.W with ACK-I5361 120mm Long Life Bearing CPU Cooler for $18.21AR Free Shipping
Corsair CAFA70 120mm Dual-Fan CPU Cooler for $24.95AR Free Shipping

The Tuniq Towers are the best of the lot but hard to tell you which one since you haven't chose a platform yet.

Well, I really want to use the 2500K for a CPU. I don't plan to extreme overclock it, so I don't think I need the best of the best cooling wise.

I was planning on getting something along the lines of CM690 II Advanced, Antec 300 Illusion, HAF 922, HAF 932 (Blue), or Antec 902 V3...I saw last year the 300 went on sale at one point for $40ish. I think these should all fit a decent size heatsink no?

I haven't really looked into RAM much yet. So far it's looking like G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL7D-4GBXM.

I was hoping one of the cheaper heatsink options listed would be the best deal you've ever seen. Tecmo34 seems to recommend the CM Hyper N 520. I believe Newegg is offering 15% off on all their heatsinks, so you don't have to limit your best choice to this list.

By the way...as far as those cases go...would picking up 1 or more of XIGMATEK Cooling System Crystal Series CLF-F1451 140mm Blue LED Case Fan PSU Molex Adapter/extender included for $4.98 total be a wise move? Does it look like you can use the rebate for more than 1 fan?

Yep! every HS you listed will fit in the cases you like.
I have a 902 and a CM690II btw!
Nice cases!
Yep GSkills ram is nice and Ripjaws are 41mm tall and will be compatible with just about every HS you listed.
Not too sure about the N520 though because i don't know it's base height clearance or dimm overhang.
Those fans would be very handy if you bought the CM690II cuz it has mounts for 5x 140mm .
Also an empty top exhaust mount for 140mm.

You really don't need to buy the best air cooler if you plan on getting a 1155 platform.
The cpu's are the most efficient to date and don't generate alot of heat when oc'd compared to 1366/1156 cpu's.

That's kind of what I was thinking. I'll keep looking for a cool looking low cost option...actually being a very good cooler will just be icing on the CPU then. Although...I'd probably like to use it on the next build I do after this one and retire the 2500K to it's stock cooler....so cool-looking, cheap, good cooling, low noise are all still priorities. I'm not in a rush anymore since those deals expired. I'm sure something will be a deal I can't refuse before next year.

Did you get a chance to look at that link for the 140mm fans? Does it look to you like you can get more than 1 with that rebate? If so, how many would you suggest for some of the cases I'm looking at (specifically the CM690 II that I see you recommending all over the forums)? I don't really want to get too many more than I need. I was thinking 2 would be a good number, but I haven't looked at what all the cases could/should use.

Thanks JackNaylorPE,

That particular sale ended yesterday, but thanks for the list. I think I had seen you post it in another thread so was already looking over it there. Do you have any price points for some of the better heatsinks that you think would be crazy insane ridiculous value deals if they ever go below that pricepoint?

Honestly you would only need 1 extra 140mm for the empty top exhaust mount.
2 would be alright cuz you could always stick one on the side panel..
