I am a newb to building these things but I've been a bit confused with how firewire connects. I know motherboards have a pin connection for USB but what about firewire? I am looking for an amd quad core board that has pins for connecting usb as well as firewire. Is it a rare thing to find dual processor mobos with firewire? I know I can hook up a pci card firewire but I'd rather have it via the mobo to save money among other things....

You can find a few AMD motherboards that have an IEEE 1394a connector plus one in the back. They all have at least one USB connector.

Dual processor motherboards are designed for servers where firewire normally isn't required.

thanks for the reply. I found the titan s2915-e which will suit my needs. The problem was I needed a board for dual processors and alot of them i was looking at had no firewire connection. I guess because they were server oriented they figured no firewire was necessary.
